Biography

Mukami Njeru is the Head of Actuarial and Insurance Management in the West Market Area for PwC. She serves on the Council of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and is an active member of the IFoA’s Risk Management Practice Board and Member Engagement Committee. Mukami is also a Director at the Actuarial Academy of East Africa (AAEA).

With extensive experience in the actuarial and risk management fields, Mukami has held roles at Swiss Re and Kenbright and is a PwC alumnus. She was previously a Director of the Risk Management Center at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya.

A Certified Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) and a Fellow of both the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) and the Actuarial Society of Kenya (FeASK), Mukami has a deep understanding of the insurance industry. Her expertise includes actuarial science, risk management, and implementing innovative strategies that drive growth and optimise risk models across various jurisdictions, including Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Mukami is passionate about the role of actuaries in shaping better business decisions and societal outcomes, particularly in the area of sustainability.
